Strategy, Office of the CEO

I work at Mapbox, a location data platform that enables software developers to build mapping and location features in their products. I work on special projects across the company including all of the below.

Product Strategy

I help our product teams launch new products and features by enabling them with market sizing, customer research, pricing analysis, and go-to-market operations. Most recently I’ve assisted the launch of Mapbox Tiling Service, a new service that allows customers to quickly upload custom data to the map and use it for visualizations.

Sales Operations

I coordinate large parts of sales operations at Mapbox. I run the Mapbox weekly sales forecast and have created the sales metrics by which our teams are measured which include both ARR and a Mapbox specific metric that we call usage revenue. Every six months, I work with our finance team to set our sales targets and incentive plans, and I measure sales attainment in the interim.

Marketing Content

I manage the content and design for Mapbox customer case studies at mapbox.com/showcase. I do a lot of the writing and design myself. Check them out we have some amazing customers including Facebook, IBM, Snap, Tableau, Yahoo! Japan, and many more.

Marketing Automation

I helped build a service for our sales team that uses customer usage data to inform automated email outreach. This internal service helps our sales team efficiently prospect the thousands of small customers that use Mapbox; we call the service AM Scale (Account Management Scale).

Venture Capital

I used to work in venture capital for a firm called Lumia Capital, a first time fund that invested 2/3 in the US and 1/3 in emerging markets. I was an analyst on the deal team working to invest $100M in capital. Over the course of my time at Lumia I got to meet many amazing founders, invest in some, and ultimately fall in love with how businesses are built.

Investment Due Diligence

At Lumia I was primarily responsible for metric analysis, building narratives, and presenting investment theses to the Partners at the firm. This due diligence of prospective companies to invest in covered a wide range of industries and geographies, from mobile gaming in Russia to API platforms in silicon valley. Over the course of my tenure our key investments were:

Cadre (Real Estate, US)

Mulesoft (Developer software, US)*

PagerDuty (Developer Software, US)*

Careem (Ridesharing, Dubai)*

Hinge (Dating App, US)*

Firm Operations

As the most junior member of the investment team, my responsibilities also included everything from managing our guests of founders to managing our grocery orders. Anything our team needed I did, and I loved it; I’m a team player.
